Move-out Cleaning Instructions

When moving out, the tenant must clean the apartment to a condition where a new tenant could move in without further cleaning. Please note that if the apartment is left uncleaned, it may be cleaned by a cleaning company at the tenant's expense. The following is a list of things that should be paid attention to at a minimum. You can find handy video instructions by clicking on the hyperlinks in some of the checklist items.

Kitchen

  • The oven and stove must be cleaned thoroughly inside and outside.

  • Oven trays must be cleaned carefully to prevent residue.

  • Remember to close the dishwasher tap!

  • Clean the dishwasher.

  • The refrigerator, freezer, and icebox must be cleaned.

  • The freezer and refrigerator must be defrosted. Do not leave the freezer to thaw on its own!

  • Turn off the power to the cleaned and defrosted refrigerator and freezer, and leave the doors open.

  • Clean kitchen cabinets and drawers thoroughly of loose debris and stubborn dirt.

  • Clean the countertop with sink and tiles.

  • Clean wall and door surfaces.

  • Wash the floor and wipe the skirting boards.

  • Remember to clean the hood filter.

Toilet, Bathroom, and Sauna

  • Clean the toilet seat and sink.

  • Wash the shower corner and walls.

  • Clean the sink cabinet and mirror.

  • Clean the floor and floor drain.

  • Thoroughly clean chrome surfaces and shower walls or doors, if necessary, using a descaling cleaner.

  • Check the washing machine's drain and inlet pipes. If the plug is missing, it will be charged to the tenant during the move-out.

  • Remember to close the washing machine tap!

Other Rooms

  • Remove stains from doors and walls and wash them if needed.

  • Clean shelves, walls, and floor of closets and wardrobes.

  • Wash the floors.

  • Clean the balcony (clean balcony glass, debris, and dust).

  • When removing lamps, make sure to reattach lamp ceiling covers/plugs to the light fixture box.

  • Clean window surfaces and frames.

  • Clean venetian blinds.

  • Leave the resident folder for the next resident.

  • If the apartment door has a security lock/door viewer, leave them in place.

  • If there have been larger drill installations on the walls leaving marks, these should be fixed and, if necessary, painted to restore the wall. Painting instructions can be found here.

  • If curtain hooks were already installed in the apartment, they should be left in the apartment.

  • If Ethernet cables were pre-installed in the apartment, leave them either loose near the use and maintenance book or connected to the electrical panel (in their designated spots).

  • Wipe dust from ventilation vents (includes both supply and exhaust air vents).

Unit-Specific Storage Spaces, Waste, and Debris

  • Empty and clean the unit-specific storage spaces.

  • Bicycles, outdoor equipment, and other personal property must be removed from the common storage spaces of the housing company.

  • Do not leave any extra items in the apartment and storage spaces, as we will charge for their removal.

  • The housing company's waste containers are for household waste, not for moving waste. It is the mover's responsibility to remove moving waste.
